Who I Am

I am a writer, speaker, and storyteller who explores how care, connection, and culture shape the stories we tell and the lives we live. My work focuses on helping people and organizations understand story as both a creative act and a cultural practice.

For thirty years, I worked with global Filipino communities through The Filipino Channel. Those years taught me how stories build belonging, how identity travels across borders, and how culture shapes the way we see ourselves and one another.

What I Do

Today, I help creators, educators, migrants, virtual assistants, gig workers, embassies, consulates, and organizations become more culturally intelligent. I do this through speaking, writing, consulting, and story development.

My work brings together narrative insight and cultural understanding. I guide people and teams toward clarity, empathy, and resonance so their stories connect across different audiences and contexts.

If you need support in storytelling, communication strategy, cultural intelligence, or narrative development, this is where I can help.

My Philosophy

I believe stories do three things.
They show care.
They build connection.
They honor culture.

When we understand these three, we communicate with more humanity. We create stories that are both rooted and resonant. We see others more clearly and allow ourselves to be seen without fear.

Stories are not just content. They are living bridges. They shape how we belong in the world.

A Southeast Asian Approach to Story

My work is grounded in a Southeast Asian worldview that values community, adaptation, and shared meaning. This perspective shaped the CIS Bamboo Framework, a culturally intelligent storytelling approach that helps creators stay true to who they are while reaching wider audiences.

The bamboo teaches us something important.
Roots matter.
Flow matters.
Growth matters.
And stories thrive when they are flexible, grounded, and connected.

I bring this lens to the way I teach, write, and speak about culture and narrative.

Where My Work Has Been Featured

I have shared my work in universities, embassies, organizations, and cultural communities in Southeast Asia, the United States, and beyond. These include the University of Tokyo Philippine Studies Forum, the ACFEA Conference in Hanoi, the UP Asian Center, Texas A and M University San Antonio, the University of Pittsburgh, and various Philippine embassies and consulates.

Each presentation reminds me that stories travel farther when they honor where they come from.

The Three Pathways of My Work

NedTalks

Speaking and engagements on culture, story, identity, and global audiences.

Neducation

Books and courses that help creators and organizations grow in cultural intelligence and narrative clarity.

Nedizens

Events and community spaces for conversations on care, connection, and culture.

My work is guided by a simple belief. When we understand ourselves and the cultures we move in, we tell better stories. We create deeper connections. We build a world where people feel seen and valued.

If you want to explore how your story can connect across cultures, I would be glad to work with you.
