SUMMARY:TFCN Global News Summit: Culturally Intelligent Newswriting
DESCRIPTION:The Road Here \nThis is the turn in the story. Eight rooms into the year\, and this was the first one that was not a campus or a conference at all. Talking with healthcare workers about hierarchy\, communication\, and generational difference is what pushed the work past storytelling and into ordinary working life. C3 grew out of this conversation. \nBefore this: the Speech Communication Conference at UP Los Baños\, October 2025.  ·  Next stop: the international book launch in Santa Monica\, November 2025. \nRelated reading: Why Filipino Nurses Wait for One Another and From CIS Bamboo to C3. \n\n\n\n\n Share This Story \n \n in\n f\n @\n \n •••\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Past Event\n\n Healthcare and Cultural Intelligence: Decoding the Intersections \n\n \n Cultural Intelligence at Cedars-Sinai: Decoding the Intersections\n \n\n \n I brought Decoding the Intersections to Cedars-Sinai\, where I joined healthcare and organizational leaders for a career development session on communication styles\, generational shifts\, and cultural intelligence at work.\n \n\n \n This is where C3 started. I came in to talk about storytelling. He wanted more examples. More application. He wanted to know what to do with any of this during shifts\, handovers\, and team interactions on his own floor.\n \n\n \n He was not being difficult. He was telling me the framework was still too abstract to use on a Monday. I had built it around stories. He was asking me to bring it to work.\n \n\n \n That question is the reason C3 exists. Stories stayed as one lens\, but they could not be the only one. The framework had to account for the people who communicate and care across cultural differences\, not only the ones who tell stories about it.\n \n \n\n \n The three lenses came out of that room.\n The emerging logic of C3\n \n\n \n \n Culture\n \n The values and unspoken rules beneath the encounter.\n \n \n\n \n Communication\n \n How meaning\, authority\, and respect were expressed and read.\n \n \n\n \n Connection\n \n The trust and relationships that came out of the exchange.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n Acknowledgment \n\n \n An Invitation That Opened a New Direction\n \n\n \n \n The Cedars-Sinai engagement was made possible through the invitation\n and support of Janeth Zafra-Mauricio and the Fil-Am C.A.R.E.S.\n community.\n \n\n \n The session opened a new field of inquiry for Ned's work: how\n culturally grounded frameworks could help professionals navigate\n communication\, hierarchy\, identity\, care\, and trust in institutions\n where people from different backgrounds work together every day.\n \n \n\n \n \n C3 Bamboo Framework\n \n Explore how Culture\, Communication\, and Connection now operate\n across the three lenses of Stories\, People\, and Nations.\n \n \n Explore the Framework\n \n \n\n \n Speaking\n \n View speaking areas involving cross-cultural communication\,\n healthcare\, professional adaptation\, storytelling\, and cultural\n diplomacy.\n \n \n View Speaking Work\n \n \n\n \n C3 Journal\n \n Read the essays\, reflections\, and field notes documenting how the\n framework continues to develop through real encounters.\n \n \n Read the Journal\n \n \n\n \n Events Archive\n \n Browse past and upcoming talks\, conferences\, masterclasses\, book\n launches\, and institutional programs.\n \n \n View All Events\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n Share This Story \n \n in\n f\n @\n \n •••

SUMMARY:Storytelling in Climate Communication at the AUN-EEC Conference
SUMMARY:Culturally Intelligent Storytelling at the 15th Biennial ACFEA Conference
SUMMARY:Bamboo Against the Current at the UP Asian Center Graduate Student Conference
